- K3BC Weatherfax Programs
-
- These are new programs specifically designed for poor signal
- conditions and the typical 640x480x16 colors (or gray shades) avail-
- able on laptops. The WX program is the simplest and requires only
- typing WX at the DOS prompt and VWX to view files that are saved. WXP
- and VWXP have more pixels/line and higher resolution. They require you
- to create a RAMDISK by adding to your CONFIG.SYS file:
- For 2 Mb. system: device=c:\dos\ramdrive.sys 1024 512 64 /e
- For 4 Mb. system: device=c:\dos\ramdrive.sys 3072 512 64 /e
- They use the original simple clipper interface from Oct.1991 "QST".
- The programs are installed from the a: drive by typing INSTALL A:
- and from the b: drive by INSTALL B:. The WX pix are saved in the c:\wx
- directory and the WXP pix are in a c:\wx\wxp subdirectory if you
- chose Default. Keeps the picture files segregated. Once installed, at
- the c:> prompt type cd\wx and ENTER. Then type wx, vwx, wxp, or vwxp.
- I suggest you view the sample pix files first.
- A faster version of WX called WD is included but it requires the
- RAMDISK installation. VWX works with files saved from WD. Additional
- info is contained in OPERATWX.TXT.
