  2.                              K3BC Weatherfax Programs
  3.         
  4.          These  are  new programs specifically designed  for  poor  signal 
  5.     conditions  and the typical 640x480x16 colors (or gray shades)  avail-
  6.     able  on  laptops. The WX program is the simplest  and  requires  only 
  7.     typing WX at the DOS prompt and VWX to view files that are saved.  WXP 
  8.     and VWXP have more pixels/line and higher resolution. They require you 
  9.     to create a RAMDISK by adding to your CONFIG.SYS file:
  10.          For 2 Mb. system:  device=c:\dos\ramdrive.sys 1024 512 64 /e
  11.          For 4 Mb. system:  device=c:\dos\ramdrive.sys 3072 512 64 /e
  12.     They use the original simple clipper interface from Oct.1991 "QST".
  13.           The programs are installed from the a: drive by typing INSTALL A: 
  14.     and from the b: drive by INSTALL B:. The WX pix are saved in the c:\wx 
  15.     directory  and  the  WXP  pix are in a  c:\wx\wxp  subdirectory if you  
  16.     chose Default. Keeps the picture files segregated.  Once installed, at 
  17.     the c:> prompt  type cd\wx and ENTER. Then type wx, vwx, wxp, or vwxp. 
  18.     I suggest you view the sample pix files first.
  19.           A faster version of WX called WD is included but it requires the
  20.     RAMDISK installation. VWX  works with files saved from WD.  Additional         
  21.     info is contained in OPERATWX.TXT.
